THERE is just one day left for people to sign up for the Race For Life at Lingfield Park Racecourse.

So far 1,095 women have signed up for the 5k Cancer Research UK event which takes place on Sunday.

The closing date for entries is today (Thursday) and organisers are appealing to mums, daughters, grannies, sisters, friends and workmates to get involved.

Race For Life raises millions of pounds every year for life-saving research into all cancers – helping men, women and children across the country.

Jemma Molloy, event manager for Race For Life in Lingfield, said: "We are issuing an urgent rallying call to the region's missing women. We hope they will hear our plea and register as soon as possible. We need them to step forward and be counted.

"Together they will help us create a fantastic atmosphere on the day and every step they take will help doctors, nurses and scientists take major strides forward in research."

To enter Lingfield Race For Life visit www.raceforlife.org or call 0871 641 1111.
